I’ve avoided Blogging about politics in the two years since Labour’s landslide victory, even though they have been a sitting target, but their MP’s were clearly already worried about losing the next General Election – and their jobs – so have got rid of SKS and has installed good old AB.
He, like his predecessor, has asked for time to implement his plan – whatever that is – I’m not sure it works like that.
AB seems to be under the impression that being nice and saying what he thinks people want to hear will make him and the government successful. Unfortunately, politics and being in power are about making tough choices and leading when the going is tough. I doubt that is in AB’s DNA, but hopefully I’m wrong.
I still predict that Labour will serve one term – two at the very most – before they are resigned to their usual position of Opposition Party. The electorate that voted for them will finally realise that just not liking the Tories is not enough to run the country, and Socialism is not the key to the issues that affect not only the UK but the world as a whole.
AB is under the misapprehension that MT was the reason behind the country’s issues. Really?
Poor deluded soul that he is.
Already I’m concerned he has the presence to deal with any tough questions, and he has not shown he can deal with the easiest of questions from LK very confidently.
I sense he is a politician who believes that he can solve the issues at home and ignore the outside world. I guess he’s in for another shock there.
Being a man of the people will only take him so far – and by the look of things, that’s not going to be a very long way. You can’t please all the people all the time. It’s difficult pleasing some of the people even some of the time.
Like all politicians, his head of black hair will soon be grey when he realises that being the PM is tough and there are no days off, even if he tries to spend a day in Manchester. I’m not sure the Civil Service is going to allow the country to be run from anywhere other that London.
As always, the great British public will get on with life and have to bankroll AB’s socialist whims.
Well, until the General Election in under three years. Then we will see if they really like AB.
