Footballs Coming Home?

With the announcement of the GS England Squad, it is time for me to consider the next football tournament, rather than the forthcoming General Election – Something tangible to consider?

As always, a lot of media hype, and expectation from supporters as a whole.

I have to say; I look at the squad and perhaps it’s just me, but I am not convinced we have the killer edge to do more than England normally does.

Defensively, I am also unsure that we are capable of stopping the better teams that we are likely to meet.

As always, unless GS sorts out his, and not his assistants, subs and formulates sensible alternative plans when things are not going well, then we will be lucky to make the QF’s.

Time, though, as always, will tell.

Having been supporting England for nearly 60 years, I have learnt to not get my hopes up at any major tournament, and this one is no different.

I look forward to this as much as any other, and go forward with High Hopes, but Low Expectations.

My hope and desire, as with every major competition I have watched, we will be worthy winners.

Ah, I feel a dream coming on….. Football’s coming home…
