Marching on Together – You’ll never walk alone

Well, a weeks’ a long time in politics and football for that matter.

There was last weekend, a prospect of BJ becoming PM and talk of MB replacing JM as LUFC free-fall into the relegation zone ensued……..

The expected results against lower opposition hadn’t materialise and to all in tense and purpose it looked like a relegation fight was inevitable, both for the Whites and the Tories.

Now that is still highly likely, but with the prospect of travelling to Anfield looming and LFC outstanding home record, JM must have been fearing this and the remaining fixtures prior to the imminent Mid-Season Break for a ludicrous FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

But this is not the LFC of old and what happens, well Premier League football happens, the most competitive league in the world throws up an unlikely result. The Reds probably thought this will be easy, the whites however thought well we might as well give it a go and what do you get.

LFC lose at home for the first time since March 2021, but that is the thing about extended runs, they all come to an end…eventually, and LUFC climb out of the relegation zone.

Now if the next game goes as planned, LUFC could be sitting in mid table prior to the World Cup and JM can have a wonderful UK Christmas Day and Boxing Day while looking forward to prospect of playing Manchester City on 28 December.

…….but, from last weekend’s speculation, one outcome didn’t happen and the other is now unlikely.

Resulting in some of the most vocal and loyal supports, getting behind their manager, and marching on together, well at least until the next game, while the other vocal and loyal supporters will, as always, never walk alone.

LFC chances of a PL Title this season are most likely over, but they will if JK pulls his finger out most likely make next year’s CL, either by getting into the top four, but don’t rule them out winning this year’s CL as there focus will be on one competition and MCFC will, even with their extensive squad, find the chase for the elusive quadruple too much and will end up a busted flush as has been the case for some years and their dream of being CL Champions will remain just that, a dream.

Marching on together, we’re going to see you win……well hopefully more often than not….
