Red v Blue – Harry v Wills – No Contest

It was inevitable really; I would have to eventually make comment on the Harry & Meghan saga.

I have held back until the book ‘Spare’ was out in the big wide world, just to make sure I am truly fair in my assessment.

One thing that is true, no matter what or who you are, is that you don’t air your dirty laundry in public.

This is good sensible advice whether you are the lowest of the low or fortunate to be born into the British Royal Family.

It does therefore appear strange, but perhaps not surprising that Harry has chosen to go public on so many personal things that affect not only him but his father and brother plus the rest of the royal family.

To quote personal conversations and things that are just not discussed in public is in my opinion totally unforgivable and appears to be contrary to even Harry’s beliefs, a desire for privacy but only until he can be paid a fortune for his memoires.

Harry was fortunate to be born into privilege and knew from a very early age that with privilege comes responsibility, but he appears to have totally disregarded this for the love of a woman, his wife.

I am also aware that once siblings quarrel and fall out then the likelihood of reconciliation is small, if it has gone farther than that, then the bond is irrevocably broken.

Once something is said and more to the point written, it can’t be fully retracted, the saying ‘least said soonest mended springs to mind.’

I initially had no particular axe to grind with Harry and Meghan and I still don’t, I admire a man or woman who will do anything for the love of their life.

I am however slightly concerned, that it does now appear that Harry considers only his wife and her beliefs at the expense of everything else in his life or what he previously thought.

I may be wrong, but that is what I observe.

Harry knew what he was born into, the same as the other royals that are never to be our Monarch, but they have on the whole, with the odd exception of PA, upheld the integrity of the Royal family. Princess Anne being a prime example, who has shown how to embrace the values expected of the Royal Family and bestowed upon her by her parents.

The Royal Family, especially Charles and William will quite rightly not dignify any thing in the book or the interviews due to be shown this week with a response, and quite rightly. Their silence will speak far lounder than Harry’s hollow words penned by a ghost writer.

I do, however, hold the greatest of respect for William and Kate, I find them to be the most wonderful and dignified couple and I hope and believe will one day become ideal King and Queen.

No matter what Harry or Meghan now say, and William won’t dignify any quote with a response, it will not affect my view, and that I guess is where we all now sit you are either Red or Blue, Harry or Wills no matter what the stories or arguments.

I do not try to persuade those that support Harry and Meghan, who seem hell bent on belittling the Royal Family and all it stands for, they are encouraged by the pair because most likely they are already republicans who only wish to see the downfall of the Monarchy and revel in the media outrage.

Everyone is free to believe what they want, and support who they want, but Harry, who now makes statements that any reasonable person would not do so in private, let alone in public, in my opinion undermines any goodwill he had previously enjoyed with the majority in the UK.

Time will tell, but it would appear that you can’t make a princess out of an actress, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Duke and Duchess became just Mr and Mrs…..

I do though hope that Meghan repays Harry’s love and devotion for the rest of their lives, as he has given up everything for her, and supported everything she believes, but I have a niggling doubt that she may not.

As a royalist, all I will say with conviction is Long Live the King….. Long Live King Charles III
