Pen-Wethers – Returning to Rock was so Re-Invigorating
We have just returned from our holiday in Cornwall, a destination we visited on so many previous occasions, but had not been there since before Covid.
It was so wonderful to return, and all the wonderful pleasures the area offers came flooding back.
We chose Pen-Wethers as a new holiday home, and it did not let us down. It is located close to St Enodoc Golf Club, with marvellous views of the Camel Estuary.
With such a great location, Oscar and I could walk out the front door and be on one of the numerous dog walks, either across the golf course to St Enodoc Church, or down to the beach at Rock and the glorious walk to Daymer Bay via Brae Hill when the tide was in.
Walking with Oscar brought back all the wonderful times we have spent there as a family and more recently as just a couple. It reminded me of how wonderful the scenery is and how uplifting it can be.
Pen-Wethers provided an ideal base for us to drive to the usual tourist spots the area offers and we enjoy, and while the weather was typically British for early May, we still had some lovely sunny days interspersed with the odd rainy days. But overall it was a most enjoyable holiday, that will ensure we return to Rock in the not too distance future.
Even the journey of 366 miles, while initially getting there was a bit of a drag at 6 hours and 15 minutes, but the return at 5 hours 45 minutes was actually most enjoyable on a nice sunny Thursday evening and will not deter us going back quite soon.
