500k Striking Workers – Is it such a Big Deal? – That’s only 1.5% of the UK Workforce
You are aware of my views on Striking, it does not particularly work and the only sensible thing to do is talk with the employers and find a compromise. This will have to occur regardless of striking.
The Left-Wing element of the Media are, it would appear, again attempting to stoke up issues that are not really there. They are making out that there are huge numbers of workers on strike and disgruntled.
The truth though is far from this. The likelihood is that 500k public sector workers may strike.
Let’s put this into context. There are 32.8m employed workers in the UK, therefore we have 1.5% on strike.
So, there is a very small minority attempting to disrupt the UK and I am not sure that they will get very far, other than alienate themselves to the rest of the UK. The Private Sector on the other hand just get on with doing their jobs.
It is in my opinion that some Union Leaders are seeking to have a go at the government, for what is a worldwide slump, caused predominately, as I have said before by Russia invading Ukraine and forcing energy prices to record highs.
Now don’t get me wrong you are entitled to do that, but the best place to do that is at the ballot box, when the true feelings of the country will be heard.
Union leaders stoking up unrest and cajoling workers to strike for their political beliefs is a foolhardy mission and history shows that it is highly unlikely to be successful.
I will state again, use your efforts in putting forward a solution to the impasse, rather than wasting your efforts on a picket line.
Compromise, is at the end of the day the only likely outcome, the sooner this is recognised the sooner things are resolved.
